Coachella, CA (August 18, 2020) – Augustine Casino recently appointed Jorge Martinez to the role of Executive Chef for all dining operations on property. In this position, Chef Martinez supervises day to day operations and team members directly aligned with Menyikish Grille and Café 54.

Chef Martinez brings a notably extensive and worldly culinary background to this position. Early in his career, he assumed an internship in Florence, Italy which paved the way for 16 years with Wolfgang Puck restaurant operations stationed in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Colorado. In his most recent executive role with local restaurant La Quinta Cliffhouse, Chef Martinez successfully grew revenues while maintaining food and labor costs and creating a unique dining experience for an average 600 daily guests in season.

“Café 54 has won multiple Best of awards over the years. Bringing someone in who could elevate what we already offer our guests was a huge priority,” said Augustine Casino’s General Manager Jef Bauer. “Once we met with Chef and discussed his vision for our food and beverage operations, we knew he was the perfect fit for this position.”

Chef Martinez’s newest addtions to the Café 54 menu include Signature Lobster Tacos with slaw and avocado corn salsa, Bomba Shrimp with Asian slaw and spicy sriracha aioli, and Pan Roasted Miso Salmon with garlic mashed potatoes and vegetables. Chef plans to add additional menu items in the fall.
